Breakout Session: Partners, Networks, and Operations Track

Tuesday 10 March 2026
Coral 1-2

This panel will explore how Mission Engineering and Integration enables innovation-driven deterrence by aligning capabilities with mission threads and operational outcomes. Through disciplined campaigns of experimentation—such as prototyping, demonstrations, wargames, and joint/combined exercises – the Department can de-risk decisions, compress timelines, and transition relevant solutions to the force. Panelists will discuss how experimentation informs mission-centric capability pathways, how acquisition integrates results to scale effective solutions, and how industry and international partners can co-develop interoperable, deterrence-focused capabilities tailored to contested environments. The panelists will highlight strategies for aligning technology development with mission objectives, enhancing joint force integration across Services and domains, and leveraging mission engineering frameworks to inform data-driven decision-making. The panel will also address barriers to integration, such as organizational silos, cultural resistance, and technical complexity, and share lessons learned from recent mission engineering efforts, including joint exercises and operational demonstrations. Attendees will gain actionable insights into accelerating integration and innovation to equip the joint force for complex challenges and ensure mission success in contested environments.
