David Restione is the Chief Technology Officer for the Joint Program Executive Office Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO CBRND) which is the advanced development and acquisition command for CBRN Defense for the USA. He is currently also serving as an advisor to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Chemical and Biological Defense Program supporting key experimentation efforts, international outreach, bio surveillance and early warning activities. His responsibilities at the JPEO CBRND are to foster innovation at the JPEO, to provide oversight on technologies and capabilities in development in laboratories, academia and industry and lead special projects in support of transition to JPEO programs and capabilities to deliver capability to the warfighter. Prior to this assignment, Mr. Restione served at the Pentagon in support of the Under Secretary of Defense (Intelligence), USD(I) for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR). He was a Principal Professional Staff member at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and led efforts supporting US Special Forces and the Intelligence Community for countering WMD threats and antisubmarine warfare. Mr. Restione has a Bachelor of Science in Physics degree from Lafayette College and a Masters of Physics degree from The Johns Hopkins University.
